Muscular dystrophies

Muscular dystrophies are a collection of inherited genetic muscle diseases, that are characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness, which have a major impact on patient’s lives. We explore the processes that underly these disorders using 3D stem cell-base models of early embryogenesis and skeletal muscle development. In addition, we’re developing new CRISPR/Cas-based gene editing applications to intervene in the progression of these disorders.
